Noor doll pt 2.

* * * *   5 votes

So I’ve been told that the Noor doll “is not a viable product.” So, in that sense, let me ask who would buy one?

Noor Doll

Well, thats the design of what the doll will look like, and it’s going to be a plushie and 5inches tall. (Colors might change)

So, who’d get one, as a gift, for themselves? For a child? Lemme know, because I really wanna make these. Plus, prove this prick wrong.

    I think it’s adorable! I’d probably buy one for my daughter. Anything to get her to stop dragging around the horrible plastic dolls that Nana gives her :P

    yeah of course i would buy one for my kid. better than brat (z) dolls.

    my suggestion is to keep promoting the comic and further developing the character. maybe make a series of animation shorts in flash.. sync em up with some good dialogue and sound/music..

    you’ll really only go as far as you pursue. basically don’t take “is not a viable product” for an answer. That’s just one persons/company’s opinion.

    i mean come on.. if you were applying for a job, would you stop applying if the first company said no? of course not.

    What’s more, is that there is a laundry list of countries out there that would be ideal markets for such a doll – from morocco to malaysia.

    :)

    I really like the idea of a Noor doll. I think the main issue with ‘viability’ is what you want to achieve - do you want to make enough money from them to have a significant profit, or do you want something fun for the fans of your comic to buy? Usually comics go down the ‘shirts -> book -> toys’ route of merchandising. Mainly, I think, because shirts are easy to make up and they can be a good indicator of whether your fanbase are willing to actually part with their money.

    Personally, I usually don’t. This is because I’m in Australia, and most webcomics are American, and for a long time I just didn’t have the money to cover the product+postage, not to mention the fact that the currency conversion often hurt my wallet. However, I know there is certainly a market for a doll that isn’t white, middle-class, and figure/fashion oriented. It looks cute, and I like your comic, and I’d certainly be tempted to buy one. Like I said, it depends what you want to achieve :)
