alas its so sad to see my summer end…..
yes its true, these are my final moments of summer vacation, and i must say, i’m mourning.
I feel kind of guilty, but not that much.
I’ll miss court tv, and my cheesy spanish soap, but most of all I’ll miss my best friend, who emails back and forth with me about nothing, hey we could have had our own sitcom based on nothing!
So here’s my ode to the end of summer……..
o couch, o so comfy couch,
how many wonderful hours we have spent
with the delightful remote,
how I’ll miss your buttons………
and the way you always know what I wanted to watch.
o mikey, sweet friend mikey
i will miss emailing you42 times a day
and you emailing me back 41,
even though we could have easily called each other,
email was just so much lazier.
o thunderstorms that wreaked havoc on my sun soaking days
thee I will miss the most,
for it was your lightning bolts, and cataclysmic tornados
that kept me under my covers
trembling at your thunderous ways.
and i shan’t forget you,
o telemarketers who called
just to check in on me,
to make sure that I had my fill of magazines,
mortgages,
and yes, thank you charitable contribution
ladies,
it was you
who kept the hope alive.
Ok, i’m scaring myself.
Off to work I go tomorrow, I hope win the lottery. Oh wait, I dont’ play!
